Marjorie Ann Simmons, age 95 of Covington, passed away peacefully Friday, June 5, 2026 at StoryPoint, Troy. Born September 11, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Allen and Edith Heintz.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (William) Forsythe of Covington, son, James D. Simmons of Virginia Beach, daughter-in-law, Terry Simmons of VanBuren; grandchildren, Jacob (Lisa) Forsythe, Chelsea (Christopher) McLean, Ted (Lauren) Simmons, Lisa (Jacob) Leal; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Alice Forsythe, Whitney and Ford McLean, Colton Leal; brother, Richard P. Heintz, Medford, Oregon; four nieces and two nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Joe Allen Simmons, and her sisters-in-law, Mary Riker and Dolores Milton.
Marge graduated from South High School in Columbus and attended The Ohio State University.
She was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Covington, where she was active in the Women’s Circle and the Kitchen Ministry.
She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1948.
Funeral Service 11:30 AM Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Rachel Patterson officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 AM Wednesday until time of service at the church.
