Mark Steven Akers, age 65 of Covington, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Everheart Hospice at Wayne Healthcare, Greenville. Mark was born in Troy on January 16, 1960 to the (late) Homer & Tillie Josephine (Hall) Akers; was a graduate of West Milton High School, Class of 1979; an U.S. Army Veteran; a truck driver, worked at Jayna in Vandalia/Troy, and Piqua Foundry; very proud of his Army days and enjoyed doing reenactment of the Civil War; member of West Milton Friends Church; loved his Harley Davidson Dyna Low Rider; enjoyed playing cards and playing games on the computer; an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Michigan Wolverines; had a big heart and was a very kind man. Survived by his daughter, Brittany Akers of Dayton and his grandchildren, Hailee East, Nova Mooney & Draedyn Akers; companion, Carla Rohr, along with her daughters, Cheryl Meltesen and family and Carla Hyde and family, her granddaughter, Darian White and her family; Carla’s twin sister, Connie Dillon and her family; his two dogs, Remi & Sandy; two brothers, Gordon “Butch” Akers of Vandalia and Jim Akers of Roseburg, OR; aunt, June Hackworth of Findlay, OH and cousins, Allen Dorton and Karen Weaver, both of KY, Glen Ratliff and Pam Cole; other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held at West Milton Friends Church, 47 N. Main Street, West Milton, with Pastor Wayne Pennington officiating on Sunday, August 10th at 12:30 PM, and Interment of Cremains at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, at a later date.
