Martha Jane (Henschen) Doubledee, age 89 of Greenville, formerly of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at The Brethren Home, Greenville. Martha was born in Chicago, IL on March 3, 1936 to the (late) Walter George & Lillie Fern (Neeley) Henschen; graduated from God’s Bible School in 1954; a member of Greenville Wesleyan Holiness Church. She became an ordained minister in 1988 and pastored the Wesleyan Mission in Celina, Bradford Wesleyan Church, and Calvary Wesleyan Holiness Church in Corydon, IN. She pastored the Lighthouse Holiness Chapel in Troy, OH. Martha authored a book, Marvelous Grace, volunteered at Point Pleasant Wesleyan Holiness Bible College, went on mission trips to Montezuma, conducted many seminars and taught Sunday School for all ages. In her younger years, she loved playing board games and working puzzles and playing basketball with her children. Martha was truly the hands and feet of Jesus, while being a mother to six children, she still cared for the youth and elderly at her home. She also hosted many evangelists and missionaries in her home. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 69 years, Walter Doubledee Jr. in 2024; grandson, Tony Doubledee in 1983; three sons, Dale Edward, David Lee, and Jack Steven Doubledee in 1980; two brothers, Dwight Henschen and Fred Henschen; and sister, Rev. C. Bonnie Sanders. Martha is survived by her three children, John Mark & JoAnn Doubledee of Arlington, TX, Timothy Allen & Jeannie Doubledee of Bradford, and Bonnie Ruth & Kevin Wilt of Springfield, OH; grandchildren, Aaron & Ashley Doubledee, Benjamin & Laura Doubledee, Rebekah & Eddie Clark, Michael & Lorie Wilt, Rachel & Dustin Oliver, Hannah & Jacob Ford, and Maisha & Jay Cropper; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ted Henschen of Cincinnati; sister, Patty & Rev. Sam Miller of Hobe Sound, FL; sister-in-law, Clara Doubledee of Versailles; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral Service 1:00 PM Saturday, February 14th at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Pastor Rodney Robbins officiating. Interment at Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford.
