Mary Eleanor Garber, age 90 of Bradford, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at her daughter, Diane’s home. Eleanor was born in Carroll County, Maryland on September 20, 1931 to the (late) Charles Malcolm & Mary (Burns) Diehl; a member of the Old Order German Baptist Church, Oak Grove District, Bradford; married David Paul Garber on May 25, 1957; lived near Richland Center, Wisconsin for 20 years before moving back to Bradford in 2017. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Paul Garber in 2004; daughter, Karen Mitchell of Richland Center, Wisconsin; infant brother, John Diehl; two additional brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles & Ruth Diehl, William & Edith Diehl; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian & Wayne Crist; and her in-laws, Thelma & Daniel Wagner and Kenneth Garber. Eleanor is survived by her son-in-law, John Mitchell of Bradford; her children, Sue & John Lavy of Bradford, Diane & Ian McAtee of Bradford, Duane & Regina Garber of Bradford; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald & Ellen Garber of Waverly, Kansas, Kathryn Denlinger of Gettysburg, Myrna & Stanley Frantz of Covington, Lois & Jim Rife of Greenville; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Service 10:30 AM Saturday at Darrell Flora’s at 8261 Zerber Road (corner of St. Rt. 185 & Zerber Road) Bradford.
