Nancy Lee Olson (McCrudden), age 77, of Troy, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025. She was born on April 8, 1948, in Rockford Illinois, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and creativity.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Jim” Olson, her son, Jeff Olson, and her parents, John McCrudden and Helen (Carpenter). She is survived by her loving children, Brian (Michelle) Olson, and Angela (Todd) Poe-Bricking. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Brian Jr. (Ally) Olson, and Erin (Austin) Morgan, Abby Bricking, Ryan Bricking, Jack Poe, all of whom brought endless joy to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Beth Tyranski, and her brother, Tim (Cathy) McCrudden.
Nancy had a natural artistic spirit and loved painting, especially turning simple rocks into charming characters and animals. She also found joy in woodworking, creating beautiful and functional pieces before arthritis limited her hands. In quieter moments, she loved immersing herself in the magic of old black-and-white movies, which sparked her imagination and sense of nostalgia. She had a soft spot for frogs and delighted in collecting anything associated with them. Music also played a special role in her life—she especially loved listening to Bette Midler and Paul Simon, with Graceland holding a treasured place in her heart.
Known for her wry sense of humor, Nancy could always bring a smile to those around her with a smirk or a witty remark. She enjoyed quiet moments at home, most often found in her favorite chair, savoring the little joys of daily life.
Nancy’s warmth, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will continue to inspire smiles for years to come.
