Patty Lou Altic, age 89 + 1, a lifelong resident of Covington, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Ohio Hospice of Miami County, Troy. Patty Lou was born in Covington on July 20, 1933 to the (late) Lloyd & Fairy (Colbert) Farmer; a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1952; attended Edison College; previously worked at PK Lumber for many years, Covington Rescue Squad as an EMT-A, Covington Care Center as a cook, was a Sub in the Kitchen for Covington Schools; was a Bartender/Cook at the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998, where she was formerly a member; in her earlier years, she played on the woman’s softball team; attended Fields of Grace; a lifetime member of the VFW Post #4235, Covington; enjoyed crocheting and cooking; and loved to fish. Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald Meyer; daughter and son-in-law, Nanette and Chuck Gibson, son, Brent Altic; siblings, Lloyd Farmer Jr., Margaret Thomas, Chalmer & Freda Farmer, and Eileen “Joan” & Fred Graves. Patty Lou is survived by her husband of 55 years, Keith Altic; her children, Doug & Jill Meyer of Piqua, Kelley & Randy Hesson of Troy, Greg Altic of Troy; daughter-in-law, Nancy Altic of FL; nine grandchildren, Lindsay & Ron Fraley, Matt & Danielle Meyer, Andrew & Stephanie Meyer, Aaron & Alex Hesson, Brooke & Cory Smith, Tony & Tricia Altic, Brian & Sheri Altic, Steve & Jennifer Altic, and Jared & Kelly Altic; numerous great-grandchildren; special daughter, Joy Eyler of Covington; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial Service 12 Noon Saturday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Don Solin officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Covington. Gathering of family and friends 10:00 AM Saturday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County.
