Ruby Elizabeth “Liz” Marker, age 68 of Covington, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Liz was born in Matewan, WV on January 26, 1956 to the (late) James “Jack” & Jessie F. (Damron) Chafin; a high school graduate of Southview High School, Lorain, OH, Class of 1975; worked for many years as a nurse’s aide for American Nursing and Comfort Keepers; a member of Stillwater Community Church; member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; was a true problem solver; enjoyed playing bingo and was a member of the Euchre Club, she would play anywhere with family or anyone who would play; loved helping others; and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Scott D. Marker in 2022; sister, Wanda Rivera; and four brothers, Bill, Edward, Doug, & Claude Chafin. Liz is survived by her children, Fran (Jeremy) Chafins of Ansonia, Michael Walker of Troy, Kellie & Rusty Wackler of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren, Mykohl Walker, Olyvia (Cameron) Walker, Lincoln Walker, Layla Wackler, Julian Wackler, Scott Wackler, & Wyatt Wackler; one great-grandchild on the way; brother, James R. “Jimmy” Chafin of Covington; special friends, Diane Herron of Pleasant Hill and Jamie Fisher of Pleasant Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Saturday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Jon Dillon officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.
