We celebrate the life of Roan E. Brubaker, who entered the pearly gates of eternal life in Heaven on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Roan was an amazing husband, father, pap, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, neighbor, co-worker, fishing buddy, outdoorsman, wisecracker, and courageous glioblastoma warrior.
Roan brought an abundance of love and laughter into the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his quick wit, unforgettable one-liners, and wild sense of humor that could brighten even the hardest days. His greatest pride and joy was his children and family.
He found peace and happiness in the outdoors, enjoying the beauty and sounds of nature through fishing, ice fishing, hunting, trapping, mushroom hunting, and riding his dirt bike. Whether around a campfire, on the water, or sharing stories with friends, Roan treasured the simple moments and the people he loved most.
Born on January 24, 1971, Roan was a 1989 graduate of Tri-Village High School and also graduated from CTC - Machine Trades. He dedicated 28 years of hard work and loyalty to Raytheon Technologies.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Ruby Bright, Clyde and Dora Brubaker, and Genva Kisor; his loving father-in-law, Glen Michael Murphy; and his treasured nephew, Bryant Andrew Byers.
Roan is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate of 28 years, April (Murphy) Brubaker of Bradford; his children, Ivee Brubaker of Versailles and Oakley Brubaker of Bradford; and his cherished grandson, Ian Rostkowski. He is also survived by his parents, Francis (Bright) Brubaker and Gene Brubaker of Greenville, and mother-in-law, Mary Murphy of Bradford.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings and extended family: Jedd (Ann) Brubaker of Greenville, Brad (Jennifer) Brubaker of New Madison, Mark Brubaker of Greenville, Barry (LeAnne) Murphy of Covington, Steve Murphy of Bradford, and Angie (Brian) Byers of Bradford, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his love, humor, and strength.
Celebration of Life 6:00 PM Wednesday at the Common Ground Christian Church with Pastor Dan Scalf officiating. Visitation 4:00 PM until time of service at the church.
In honor of Roan, memorial contributions may be made to Common Ground Church Building Fund, Bradford Community Club, or EverHeart Hospice.
