Robert Erik "Rik" Minnich

Robert Erik “Rik” Minnich, age 78 of Covington, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026.  Rik was born April 17, 1948 to the (late) Robert “Bob” & Ila Jean “Jeanne” (Landis) Minnich.  He was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1966; retired with 47 years of service from Hobart Brothers; was a member and Sargent of Arms of Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; attended Covington Church of the Brethren; and 2016-2024 was Vice President of Covington Alumni Committee; where he had introduced the slideshow for the deceased members and did the composite book for the Alumni.  Rik enjoyed doing crafts – making things out of wood, he was a “Master Tinkerer”, where he would look at something and make something out of it, especially from rocks into jewelry.  Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Bang; and nephew, Lee Napier.  Rik is survived by his two children, Ashley Stitt-Minnich and Timothy Minnich, both of Covington; three siblings, Nick (Robin) Minnich of Oregonia, OH, Kim (Randy) Napier of Lima, OH, and Kellie (Don) Peele of Tipp City; brother-in-law, Tim (Diana) Bang of Bradford; mother of his children, Mary Ann Minnich of Indiana;  many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Rik donated his body to Wright State Medical College.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
