Ruby Jewell Peeples

Ruby Jewell Peeples, age 77 of Piqua, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Vancrest of Troy (Koester Pavilion).  Ruby was born in Yorkshire, Ohio on July 31, 1948 to the (late) Willie and Leah (Hittle) Trittschuh; was a graduate of Ansonia High School, Class of 1966; retired as a Resident Associate at Garbry Ridge Assisted Living, Piqua; previously had worked at Piqua Manor and Bearyland Day Care; was a member of the Covington Presbyterian Church where she had served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and sang in the choir.  Ruby loved babysitting children and helping the elderly; she loved to dance; loved to clean; and loved to go visit in Gatlinburg.  Ruby was a staunch supporter of her girls and supported the Muscular Dystrophy Telethons with Jerry Lewis; and most importantly she loved her family and was a loving sister.  Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arlen Lee “Duke” Peeples in 2005; her two daughters, Holly Renae Peeples in 2022 and Hope Ann Peeples in 2025; her four sisters, Patty Cox, Delores Blake, Treva Heft, and Helen Dancer; and two brothers, Carl Trittschuh and Paul Trittschuh.  Ruby is survived by her companion, Denny Grothouse; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn & David Engle of Piqua and Peggy & Tom Hill of Versailles; brother and sister-in-law, Lester & Sharon Trittschuh of West Milton; special “daughter” niece, Mindy Phlipot of Covington; nieces, nephew, great- nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Covington Presbyterian Church with Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.  Visitation 10:00 AM Tuesday until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Covington Presbyterian Church.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
