Ruth Roeth Obituary

Ruth L. Roeth, age 99 of Bradford, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at her daughter’s home.  Ruth was born in Miami County on December 28, 1925 to the (late) Andrew & Minnie (Adams) Jackson; was a graduate of Newton High School, Class of 1945; was a homemaker and a farmer; was a member of Bradford Church of the Brethren/Common Ground Christian Church; enjoyed sewing, mushroom hunting, and watching the grandkids sports and The Ohio State Buckeyes; loved to fish; and loved her family.  Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, James E. “Bud” Roeth Sr. in 2011; son, James “Jim” Roeth Jr. in 2021; three sisters, Leona Fritz, Helen Jackson, and Alma Stewart; and seven brothers, Otis Jackson, Charles Jackson, Clyde Jackson, Warren Jackson, Andy Jackson, John Jackson, and Van Jackson.  Ruth is survived by her five children, Melody & Lowell Rhoades of Versailles, Eddie & Cherie Roeth of Covington, Connie Sargent & Steve Wion of Bradford, Patricia & Gary Mason of Bradford, Gay & Darrin Cascaden of Bradford; daughter-in-law, Kay Roeth of New Bremen; 19 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother and sister-in-law, Aubrey “Orb” & Betty Jackson of West Milton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 12:00 Noon Saturday at Common Ground Christian Church with Pastor John Shelton officiating.  Interment Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford.  Visitation 10:00 AM Saturday until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Everheart Hospice, Greenville.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
