Stephen Derf Kier, age 70 of Dayton, OH, and more recently of Titusville, Florida. Steve was born May 26th , 1954 to the (late) Charles and Ruth Kier, who proceeded him in death. He fought a hard five months with cancer, until it took his life. He joined them in heaven, May 17th, 2025. He served in the U.S. Army from 1976-1980. He had many hobbies including painting, working on his suburban, and anything to do with cars and hot rods, and watching home renovation shows.
Steve is survived by his better half of 13 years, Barb Muse; sister, Kristi Green of Wilmington, OH, who he was the best big brother to. He also had three daughters, Kim (Jason) Gibson of Iowa, Sarah Smith of Georgia, and Amanda (John) Jones of Georgia; two step-children, Kevin and Sara Voss of Springfield, OH. He has seven grandchildren, Jordan (Emily) Gibson, Corey Gibson, Tyler Jones, Toby Jones, Trevor Jones, Kendra Deal, and Zane Deal. As well as four great-grandchildren, Karson, Everly, Hadley, and Griffin.
Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 20th at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington, OH from 3:00-6:00 PM. Burial will be on July 21st at 9:30 AM at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens for anyone who is wanting to attend. A second Celebration of Life will be held July 21st from 3:00-6:00 PM at the AMVETS Post #148, 11495 Lower Valley Pike, Medway, OH to have a final drink with Steve.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations for funeral cost, since Steve had no life insurance. The family would like to thank all those at St. Francis Hospice Care for all they did to keep him comfortable. Also, to Brb for taking care of him for the last five months, during this hard time.
