Therell Hoblit

Therell Hoblit, age 91 of Covington, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Koester Pavilion, Troy.  Therell was born in Randolph County, Indiana on November 2, 1929 to the (late) Russell E. & Lala O. (Via) Hoblit; graduated from Lewisburg High School, Class of 1947; a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War where he worked on a MASH Unit, driving the Ambulance on the frontline; was a truck driver his entire life and retired from Dick Lavy Trucking, Bradford; attended Friendship Grace Brethren Church, Covington; loved to read; and enjoyed listening to the Gaither’s and gospel music with a country flare.  Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jo Hoblit in 2005; sister, Dorma Jean Wise; and two brothers, Duane Hoblit and James Hoblit.  Therell is survived by his children, Therell Douglas & Iva Hoblit of Troy, Lora & James Schell of Radcliff, KY, Steve Hoblit of Pleasant Hill, Melinda & Jared Rex of Harrod, OH, Jeffrey & Kimberly Hoblit of Houston, TX, Daniel & Damita Hoblit of Covington; 13 grandchildren, Jay Schell, Ben & Erica Schell, Adam & Ashley Schell, Meagan & Scott Baughman, Kevin & Jade Gehret, Luke Gehret, Jessica & Justin Wenning, Paige Hoblit, Ashley & Tyler Bishop, Shelby Hoblit & Cassandra Bartoch,  Ethan Rex, Sydney Rex, and Micah Rex; nine and two on the way great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hoblit of Pleasant Hill; brother-in-law, Wayne Wise of Covington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 10:30 AM Saturday at Friendship Grace Brethren Church, 5850 St. Rt. 41, Covington with Pastor Johnathan Newman officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington.  Visitation 5-8 PM Friday at the church.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
