Truman Scott Bashore, age 81 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville. Truman was born November 9, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to the (late) Harold & E. Naomi (Inman) Bashore. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He had his Master’s Degree in Education and was an English Teacher/Professor, and retired from Edison State Community College, Piqua; was a member of the Bradford Church of the Brethren; a past member of the VFW Post #4235, Covington; a member of Sigma Delta Tau (English Honors Society); and was a past member of the Gettysburg Village Council. Preceded in death by his parents. Truman is survived by his sister, Beverly Long of Versailles; niece and nephews, Webb Alan Long, Tracy Lee & April Long, and Malinda & Robert Gorrell; great nieces and nephews, Mackenzie Gorrell, Dakota Alan Long, Logan Gorrell, Bryson Long, Collan Long, Gabriel Long and Joseph Long; great-great-nieces, Serenity and Lavaigha; family friend, Dan Ernst; and many friends. Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 – 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17th at Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford. Military Honors will be provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad and will be held at the funeral home at 2:00 PM in the parking lot.
