Wanda E. Rivera

Wanda E. Rivera, age 65, of Troy, OH; formerly of Lorain, OH passed away on October 21, 2023 at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati.  She was born on June 16, 1958 in South Williamson, KY to the late James Russell “Jack” and Jessie F. (Damron) Chafin.

She is survived by her sons: Hector Aaron Rivera and Brad Luis Rivera; grandchildren: Nyzaiah King Jose Rivera and Lucia Kyomi Amor Rivera; sister: Elizabeth (Scott, Deceased) Marker; brother: James R. “Jimmy” (Hattie, Deceased) Chafin; nieces and nephews: Frances Chafins, Jessie James Russell Chafin, Richard Lee Chafin,  Marcus Allen Chafin, Jason Rivera, Lee Rivera and Michael Walker; great nephews and niece: Mykohl Walker, Lincoln Walker and Olyvia Walker; former spouse and father of her children: Hector L. Rivera; partner: John Young; and daughter-in-law: Kaitlyn Lovell.

Wanda Earlene Rivera grew up in Matewan, WV and migrated to Ohio to build her own family.  She was a graduate of Southview High School in Lorain, Ohio where she enjoyed raising her two sons.  She thoroughly enjoyed baking, making flower arrangements and jewelry. Her favorite past time was undoubtedly the time spent with her grandchildren!

Services will be held 2:00PM Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Bridges-Stocker- Fraley Funeral Home, Covington, OH.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00PM-2:00PM at the funeral home.
