Wayne Davis Flory, age 89 of Covington, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 at the Versailles Health Care Center. Wayne was born in Covington on April 10, 1934 to the (late) Roy J. & Amanda Marie (Smith) Flory; was a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1953; an U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War 1953-1957; worked for 30 years in the Aviation/Avionics Industry as a Sales/Service Engineer; was a self-employed Manufacturing Representative for several companies; he and his wife, Nancy renewed their vows on their 50th Wedding Anniversary; a member of the Piqua Kiwanis Club, where for many years he served on the Board of Directors and was Chairman of the Membership Committee; was a wonderful caretaker to his wife, Nancy; loved to read; he never met a stranger; and he would tell everyone “to keep smiling.” Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Ellen Flory and Alice Caldwell; and two brothers, Fred Flory and J. Eldon Flory. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy (Eidemiller) Flory; sister-in-law, Ruth Flory; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed & Lynne Eidemiller; and “his angel”, Michelle Garber and her husband, Ben and their children, Austin Garber and fiancé, Ashton Courtois, Isaiah & his wife, Maria Garber, and Navie Garber; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral Service at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington at 1:00 PM Wednesday. Interment Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Military Honors, provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation 11:00 AM Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Miami County Animal Shelter, Troy.
