William “Bill” L. Stephenson, age 85 of Union City, OH, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Stoney Ridge Estates, Miamisburg. Bill was born in Piqua on October 22, 1938 to the (late) Samuel & Helen (Weymer) Stephenson; a graduate of Houston High School, Class of 1956; received an Associate Degree in Welding from Arizona State University; was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis 1961-63; member of the NRA; enjoyed watching old western shows/movies; loved all thing American Indian; loved his farm magazines, farming, outdoors, and woodworking; enjoyed collecting coins, and everything had a meaning to him; enjoyed camping and had traveled to Alaska and California; enjoyed meeting with friends – Shawnee Rats; loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Stephenson; and three sisters and brother-in-law, Elaine & Lewis Patterson, Pam Stephenson, and Marilyn & Andy Morton. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane Louise (Fasnacht) Stephenson; son and daughter-in-law, William Nathan & Michelle Stephenson of Houston, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Shauna & Rodney Lover of Hawaii; seven grandchildren, Isaac & Ashley Stephenson, Danielle Stephenson, Micah Stephenson, Zach Stephenson, Ashley Lover, Josh Lover, and Hannah Lover; five great-grandchildren, Evelyn Stephenson, Benjamin, Grace, Faithlynn & Hope Childers; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam & Beth Stephenson, Bud & Jeanette Stephenson, and Bruce & Patti Stephenson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Interment at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
