James Edward Fields

James Edward Fields, age 81, of Covington passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Brookdale of Piqua.  Jim was born on May 26, 1937 in Greenville to the late Leon Sr. and Goldie (Bolinger) Fields.  Jim married Helen Hoover on May 28, 1956 and she preceded him in death on November 9, 2014.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Jim was preceded in death by son-in-law Scott Johnson, brother Leon Fields Jr. and sister Laura Keiser.  Survivors include daughter Cindy Johnson, son Dean Fields (Janet), grandchildren Holly Johnson (Jeff), Heidi Haldiman (Matt), Andy Johnson (Alex) and Ashley Johnson, great grandchildren Haley Haldiman, Cole Haldiman and Harper Johnson, sisters Jane Christian, Marjorie Schultz, Naomi Brown, Glenna Ruhl and Ruth Fields and numerous other relatives.

Jim retired from Sellman’s Furniture and General Films.  He attended Covington Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Covington Eagles.  He enjoyed refinishing furniture as a hobby.

Funeral service will be held 12:00PM Monday, July 9, 2018 at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Covington.  The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral home.
