James “Jim” M. McMaken, age 81 of Covington, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his home. Jim was born in Arcanum on September 22, 1936 to the (late) Tracy & Eunice Faye (Furman) McMaken; retired from RK Hydro/Vac with 18 years of service; a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; loved golfing, woodworking where he made many things; he built two experimental airplanes; loved guns – shooting and hunting; and was an avid NASCAR fan. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom McMaken; and three sisters, Jean Bridges, Patricia Anderson, and Jewell Puterbaugh. Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years, Polly Anna (King) McMaken; children, Mark McMaken of Cleveland, Sheila & Nick Oberer of Jonesboro, GA, Steve & Dana Puterbaugh of New Madison, David McMaken of Columbus, OH, Ken & Linda McMaken of Oregonia, OH, Cheryl & Mike King of Pleasant Hill, Linda & Tracy Lyons of Covington; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; half-brother, Rich & Pat McMaken of Covington; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and great neighbors.
