Donald Eugene Smith

Donald Eugene Smith, age 85 of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at State of the Heart Care, Greenville.  Donald was born in Darke County on November 7, 1935, to the (late) Carl & Lora (Dininger) Smith; retired from Adam Township with 18 years of service; worked for 24 years for Pepcon, Bradford; very involved with bands playing the bass guitar for many years; he was a “country boy”; he was the most gentle, kind, caring person ever born.  Preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Keith Smith, Matthew James Monnin, & Guy Michael Monnin; and two brothers, Dick Smith & Robert Smith.  Donald is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kim (Scranton) Smith; six children, Lonnie Smith, Larry E. Smith, Kenneth Smith, Theresa Baker, Paul Monnin, & Christine Horner; eight grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; brother, Ronald “Pete” Smith; three sisters, Barbara Hocker, Shirley Becker, & Judy Force; best friend, Steve Bucklew; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Services will be held at a later date – check the website for times.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
