Karen Jean Adams, 59, of Bradford, Ohio passed away peacefully after a tough battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at her home with her life partner and caregiver by her side. She was born and raised in Haverhill, Massachusetts on January 30, 1963, the daughter of Arthur Leroy Adams and Betty Jean (Bergeron) Adams. She was a devoted stay at home mother who loved and cared for her family and had countless volunteer jobs throughout her life. Some of these jobs included being a playground/cafeteria monitor for Peru Primary School, New York, a Cub Scout leader for her son’s packs, a dedicated foster mom for animal rescue with Circle of Hope K9 Rescue in Tennessee, and assisting with her life partner’s model aircraft business, DJ Aerotech in Ohio. Despite all of her small jobs she did though the years, she always said her greatest accomplishment was her children. Karen had a passion for crocheting, sewing, and baking among many other hands-on crafts that she was very talented at. She enjoyed camping, reading, bike riding, being out in nature, soaking up the sun, watching football, traveling, playing with her dogs and just being with family and friends. She had a deep love for the ocean; music, especially classic rock and the Rolling Stones; and vintage cars. She was a free spirit with a positive attitude and a bubbly personality. She had a warm, sunny disposition that will surely be missed by those that knew her. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Adams; her mother, Betty Adams; and her brother, Allen Lee Adams. She is survived by her life partner, Joe Todd Hahn of Bradford; her two sons, Scott Michael Corthell Jr. and Kevin Adam Corthell, both of New York; her daughter, Kimberly Jean (Corthell) Reasons of Tennessee; her seven grandchildren, Brianna Corthell, Scott Corthell III, Adalee Corthell, Octavia Corthell, Eliza Corthell, Amelia Reasons, and Luke DuBour; her two sisters, Judith Ann (Adams) Mize of Kentucky and Catherine Frances (Sturtevant-Noel) Brunelle of Florida; and her brother, Arthur Nahum Adams of New Hampshire.
