Kathy A. (Sweargin) Mays

Kathy A. (Sweargin) Mays, age 71 of Piqua, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Kettering Medical Center.  Kathy was born in Piqua on July 23, 1951 to the (late) Leslie Sweargin and Marlene (Penrod) Schauer and her step-father, who raised her, Vernon Schauer; a graduate of Piqua Central High School; retired with 17 years of service from Piqua Manor as Head Cook; loved all her babies, cooking, baking, watching her soap operas, and spending time with her family.  Preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father; sister, Linda Graham; brother, Danny Schauer; and her precious dog, Candy May.  Kathy is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Mays; son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Sarah Mays; grandchildren, Brian Glagola II, Wes Mays, Jordan & wife, Atheena Mays, Dylan & wife, Courtney Mays, Brooklyn Dilks, Khloi Courtney, Kenn`dale Williams, JR Williams, Kay`von Williams, and Ja`Shaun Wright; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Sweargin; sister, Karen Wright; five nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; many aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends.  Funeral Service 7:00 PM Thursday at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Lincoln Robinson officiating.  Visitation 5:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
