Samuel "Sam" E. Force

Samuel “Sam” E. Force, age 84 of Gettysburg, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his home.  Sam was born in Verona, Preble County, Ohio on December 15, 1936 to the (late) Raymond George & Mildred (Weyant) Force; a graduate of Franklin Monroe High School, Class of 1954; was a U.S. Army Veteran; retired from Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville; had previously worked on Gettysburg Cemetery Board, Sam’s Country Store, Gettysburg, Hobart Brothers, Troy, and Landmark Elevators, Versailles; a member of the Oakland Church of the Brethren, Bradford; loved finding Indian Relics; and enjoyed collecting coins and trains.  Preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Linda Lou Force, who passed away on October 25, 2021; infant son, Scott Allen Force; two sisters, Janice Rolfe & Vivian Bausman; and two brothers, Phil & Joe Force.  Sam is survived by his three children and their spouses, Debbie & Rick Fugate of Greenville, Sam Jr. & Tammy Force of Greenville, Steven Ray & Lisa Force of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Eric Fugate, Alex Fugate, Seth & Brittany Force, Ashley & Jacob White, Stephanie & Jimmy Hafner, Francesca Force, Vincent & Cassidy Force, and Anthony Force; seven great-grandchildren, Travis, Leah, Lydia & Sammy, Kinley & Caliana, and James; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  Private Services at the convenience of the family.
