Shirley A. Miller, age 85 of Bradford, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Versailles Health Care Center. Shirley was born in Bradford on September 7, 1936 to the (late) Walter E. & Pauline (Westfall) Canan; attended Bradford Schools; graduated from the School of Practical Nursing in 1985; had previously worked for Dr. Ronal Manis Office; Versailles Health Care Center; and Gade Nursing Home, Greenville; she also considered herself a farmer; a member of the Harris Creek Church of the Brethren, Bradford; she was an avid Ohio State fan; enjoyed reading, especially her newspapers; and she dearly loved her granddaughters. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack L. Miller in 2007; two daughters, Nancy Moody and Sue Miller, both in 2020; and brother, Fred Canan. Shirley is survived by her two children, Jeff Miller & Donna Mills of Bradford and Judy Miller & Shonda Newberg of Celina; two granddaughters, Shelly Miller of California, LeighAnna & Brian Harrod of Ansonia; great-granddaughter, Cora Nicole Harrod; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger & Ruth Canan of Columbus, Scott & Christine Canan of Bradford, Ron & Karen Canan of Bloomer; two sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra Batten of Bradford, Deborah & Dave Dirksen of Bradford; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with Pastor Phillip Dell officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday and again from 10:00 AM Friday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Day City Hospice, Centerville.
