Wayne "Rainbow" Earl Wise

Wayne “Rainbow” Earl Wise, age 90 of Covington, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  Wayne was born in Covington on January 25, 1932 to the (late) Ferman & Thelma (Via) Wise; a graduate of Covington High School; a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War as a Medic; retired from Dayton Power & Light; a member of the Friendship Grace Brethren Church, Covington holding many offices over the years; loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida; proficient in his hobby of woodworking and shared his treasures with many family and friends.  He will be missed by many for his laughter, smile and friendly ways.  Preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Dorma Jean (Hoblit) Wise in 2011; son, Gary Dale Wise in 2012; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna & Carl Graham, Mary Ellen & Buddy L. Parker, Delores & John Hillard, Wanetta & Herbert Vulgamore; brother and sister-in-law, John & Carol Wise, brother-in-law, Robert LeFevre; and sister-in-law, Libby Wise.  Wayne is survived by his wife of nine years, Geneva (Kennedy) Wise; four step-children, David & Heidi Webb Jr., Daniel Webb, Derek & Marla Webb, Dawn & Charlie Crum; his brothers and sisters, Robert & Pat Wise of Troy, Ed & Nancy Wise of Covington, Dixie & Kenneth Kimmel of Covington, Fern LeFevre of Tucson, AZ, Larry & Darlene Wise of Pleasant Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral Service 11:00 AM Tuesday at Friendship Grace Brethren Church, 5850 State Route 41, Covington with Pastor Roy Glass officiating.  Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.   Visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Friendship Grace Brethren Church.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
