Douglas A. Burch, age 87 of Bradford, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Upper Valley Medical Center Hospice Unit.  Doug was born in Piqua on August 21, 1929 to the (late) George & Helen (Rich) Burch; was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII & Korean War; retired from Stanley, Covington; a member of the Bradford Church of the Brethren; member of the American Legion Post #184, Piqua; member of the Korean War Veterans Association of Western Ohio; served 17 years with the Bradford Fire & Rescue Department; his favorite thing to do was go camping with his grandkids.  Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George “June” Burch Jr. & Richard Burch; and two sisters, Miriam Riffel & Emma Mathias.  Doug is survived by his wife of 66 years, Naomi R. (Woods) Burch; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndie & Gene Evilsizor of Troy, Myndie & Rick Kronenberg of Troy, Debbie & Kevin Ganger of Covington; seven grandchildren, Leisha & Hal Guterman, Matt Whitenack, Ben Whitenack & Gina Harmon, Mark & Loren Evilsizor, Carrie & John Arnold, Megan & Michael Fulk, Nick Ganger & fiancée, Kelly; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Owen, Evan, Liam, Ellie, Maddie, Mason, & Miles; two brothers and sister, Don Burch of Bradford, Connie Middlestetter, & Jim Burch; his buddy, his dog, Sam; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral service 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Bradford Church of the Brethren with Pastors John Shelton & Louis Reindel officiating.  Interment Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford with military honors provided the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad.  The family will receive friends 5-8 P.M. Monday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, Dayton Children’s Hospital, or Bradford Fire & Rescue Department.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
